The PLUS is a pre-meeting, separate discussion of a book ( fiction or non-fiction ) chosen in advance by the group. A member may participate in The New Yorker meeting without joining the book discussion. All essays, short stories, and books are chosen at each meeting by the group. In some cases the group may decided to devote multiple sessions to a book.
